About Our Teen Therapy Program
Teen Counselling
We offer in-person teen therapy in Vancouver and virtual sessions across BC. Our goal is to help your teen navigate social situations with greater ease, build their confidence, and find tools to manage anxiety about school, relationships, or their future.
How Our Teen Therapy Works:
-
Understanding Your Teen’s Experience: A comprehensive exploration of their unique challenges and feelings to understand what’s behind their struggles.
-
Tools for Teen Anxiety and Teen Depression: Evidence-based strategies tailored to help with common teen issues like anxiety, depression, and emotional regulation.
-
Fostering Self-Worth and Resilience: Practical interventions to help your teen build confidence, improve self-esteem, and develop healthier relationships.
-
Improved Coping Strategies: We equip teens with the tools they need to handle peer pressure, academic stress, and family dynamics.
We provide a compassionate and safe space for teens to open up through evidence-based approaches like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) , Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT).
To help your teen see lasting changes, we recommend a minimum of 8-10 sessions. But we know what teens are like with commitment (😉),so let’s just start with one session and go from there!

Frequently Asked Questions
It’s not always easy to tell, but if your teen seems more withdrawn, overwhelmed, or struggling with things like school stress, friendships, or managing emotions, therapy can help. Teens often say they don’t want to “burden” their parents, and sometimes this comes across as them being dismissive or hard to read. A good counsellor can provide a safe and engaging space to talk about what’s really going on. If your gut says they’re not coping well, it’s worth exploring.
The first session is all about getting to know your teen and helping them feel comfortable and at ease. We’ll talk about what’s going on for them, what they’d like help with, and how we can work together. There’s no pressure to open up right away—we go at their pace.
The short answer is: it depends. Your teen’s privacy is paramount. Therapy is most effective when teens feel they can trust the process, so we keep their sessions confidential. Some teens are happy for their parents to be involved periodically, and give their consent for this to happen. Other teens prefer to keep therapy to themselves, for a multitude of reasons. That said, any parent who is looking for more in depth tools to help them navigate raising a teen is welcome to reach out to us to see their own therapist. We have a deep bench of therapists who are very skillful in supporting parents – and many of our therapists are raising teens ourselves! We’lwork with you as a parent to provide insights, tools, and strategies you can use to support them at home. You won’t be left behind.
Therapy can support teens through a variety of challenges, including anxiety, depression, school stress, friendship problems, family dynamics, and identity exploration. Sometimes, teens come to therapy because they feel stuck or overwhelmed but aren’t sure why. That’s okay—we help them figure it out. The goal is to give your teen the tools they need to navigate this stage of life with more confidence and clarity.
