Full Bio

I often hear from my clients that I help them to understand themselves better, and that they leave our sessions finally ‘getting’ their struggles in a different way. Most of my clients comment on how natural it feels to talk to me, and feel safe opening up in the non-judgmental and accepting space I create. Together, we will identify what has held you back from experiencing life and relationships the way you wish you could. We’ll set realistic and meaningful goals for our treatment, and look to remove the internal barriers that keep you stuck.

I tailor each counselling relationship to the unique needs of my clients. Drawing from evidence based modalities, I apply powerful strategies and interventions to help you achieve the results you’re looking for.

Maja's Experience & Training

My first stint in the field of psychology was working for the Ministry of Children and Families. My very first position was located on the gorgeous islands of Haida Gwaii, a place I return to as often as I can to commune with friends and nature.

As a young woman with artistic aspirations, I soon realized I wanted to follow my loftier dreams and pursued a career in the performing arts – theatre, TV, film, and writing. After a decade of adventures (and misadventures!) in the entertainment industry, I realized that what really drew me to this pursuit was developing a deeper understanding of the human condition. I wanted to help people know themselves better, tap into their inherent strengths, and feel good. I realised that my life’s purpose was always going to be centered around deepening my understanding of humanity, and helping people feel better. I decided to finish my Master’s degree in Counselling Psychology and get cracking!

More About Maja

I am outgoing, curious, optimistic – and a little quirky!

I immigrated to Canada as a child, and I have family and friends scattered around the globe. I work hard to keep my relationships healthy, close and strong – I have several life-long friends who I don’t give up on, no matter what life throws at us.

I deeply value fun and new experiences, which has led me to have some wild adventures – and also helped me to embrace failing at things and navigating my way through stressful situations. Currently, I’m learning how to play the ukulele. I love to binge a good sci-fi or fantasy series in book or TV form, and I am a major Lord of the Rings fan(atic)!
