post updated August 28, 2026
Hey, reader — Victor from Open Space here.
I’m thrilled to make this post letting you know that Open Space Counselling is now registered with both Pacific Blue Cross PROVIDERnet and Telus eClaims.
What does this mean? Direct billing is now available! We are able to offer direct billing to most major insurance providers in Canada. This means less hassle for you — no more dealing with payments upfront, and our staff handles the claim on your behalf, making it even easier to get the care you need.
Summary of Direct Billing
Coverage details can vary depending on your plan, but I’m here to help you navigate the process. Here’s a quick summary of what direct billing offers:
- If your insurance plan allows direct billing, any deductible or amount not covered by insurance is due right after your session.
- If direct billing isn’t an option, payment for the full session is required at the time of your appointment.
- Insurance generally doesn’t cover fees for late cancellations, so these charges will be your responsibility. Please keep Open Space’s 48-hour cancellation policy in mind when scheduling and managing your appointments.
Am I Eilgible?
Please note that insurance direct billing will NOT automatically take effect; you have to opt-in to providing your insurance information to Open Space Counselling, for us to contact your provider via Jane App’s integration system. This is an optional and complimentary service we offer to our clients.
To keep things running smoothly, please check with your insurance provider to make sure your plan covers the services offered by our Registered Clinical Counsellors (RCCs). It’s crucial to confirm whether counselling is an eligible service under your plan, and whether your provider is okay with direct billing, even if the insurance company is listed below.
NOTE: Not every major insurance provider in Canada is registered with our system. Here is a current list of registered provider partners, as of August 2025:

How do I Opt-In?
If you have insurance through one of the above-listed providers, that covers sessions with an RCC, you may be eligible for direct billing.
Please let us know if you’d like to opt-in by sending an email to connect@openspacecounselling.ca, subject line “Direct Billing Opt-In”, with your full name, and we’ll send you a form through Jane App that will collect your insurance information. If you are emailing us from a different email than the one associated with your Jane App account, please note your Jane App email in the body of the email as well.
When Can I expect To Hear Back?
This process will likely take a few weeks to roll out, so don’t be alarmed if you don’t receive a form through Jane App immediately.
Don’t hesitate to let us know if you have any questions – we’re here to help!
