Full Bio
When your life feels overwhelming, hopeless and lonely, and your usual strategies are no longer helping (or are making things worse), I provide a supportive space to move forward in a different way. I have helped many people move beyond anxiety, self-criticism, loneliness, unprocessed anger and feelings of low self-worth.
We are the way we are for good reasons. I validate and respect how you may have acquired certain behaviours and stances in order to deal with life’s challenges. At the same time, helping you adopt new, more constructive and effective patterns is one of the most exciting parts of therapy (for us both!). Whether you are dealing with a new concern or a long-standing issue, together we can identify the contributing factors to your suffering – whether it is a new concern or a long-standing issue. Through consistent work together, we can gently release your internal obstacles so that you can experience the outcomes and results you long for.

What You Can Expect When Working With Carly
Having a great connection in which you feel comfortable and natural speaking with me is the foundation of all the work we will do together. When this is established, we can get to the heart of what matters to you most. Many of my clients find that having a non-judgmental place to talk, explore and build new perspectives has accelerated their personal growth and transformation. My clients have valued our ability to explore the depths of what is painful, sad or frightening – and also to share a good laugh together! It is this human to human engagement that I think is the “special sauce” of good therapy.
I bring a range of therapeutic approaches to my work. Most important, though, is that our counselling sessions feel fluid and natural, based on accurate attunement and meaningful conversation. I enjoy working with individuals who are motivated to release painful perspectives, difficult feelings and disruptive patterns so that they can step forward with confidence and freedom.
Carly's Experience & Training
I am inspired by those of you who choose to grow from their challenging life circumstances. Everyday heroes like you are messengers of what is possible. Again and again, I see my clients face very difficult situations, and engage in the (sometimes uncomfortable) work necessary to face their problems with integrity and grit. Change inevitably requires tolerating awkwardness and uncertainty. I help my clients see the value in this vulnerability, and the trust in themselves that they have what it takes to go through this.
As a result of my personal experiences and struggles, I have been inspired to improve and grow in order to face my own blind spots, fears and insecurities. In every person I meet with, I see hidden strengths and potential for health. I help you build the confidence and skills to help you bring these qualities forward and into actualization.
More About Carly
From a young age, I have been an athlete, participating in gymnastics, skating, fencing and field hockey. As I got older, I developed a passion for the visual arts. I felt that the arts gave me an outlet to express myself and connect with others. I am an adventurer at heart, and I love being out in nature, hiking locally or taking road trips in any direction. Greeting the early morning sun on the open road or on a wilderness trail is what lights me up inside!.
I value spending time with the people I care about. I’m a lifelong learner with a constantly growing book collection – I always have several going at the same time. My daily meditation practice has done wonders for my mental, emotional and spiritual wellbeing.
Along with my varied interests, I find that the highlight of my week is spending time with my clients and peers as I am always enriched by their wisdom and life experiences.
