Practicum Student Intern, Masters in Counselling Psych. Candidate
I’ve been drawn to the world of counselling for as long as I can remember. I’ve always been deeply curious about people’s inner worlds: their stories, their pain, their resilience, and the way they make sense of the world we share. Growing up between cultures and constantly navigating questions of identity and belonging shaped my sensitivity to emotional complexity and relational dynamics. I’ve seen how powerful it can be when someone finally feels truly seen, understood, and safe enough to explore parts of themselves they’ve long hidden or judged. Counselling, to me, is not just a profession, it truly is a calling rooted in connection, compassion, and the belief that healing happens in relationship. Being part of someone’s journey toward clarity, self-trust, and emotional safety is what continues to inspire me everyday.
I strive to create a space where you can be fully yourself — without needing to perform, minimize, or explain away your feelings. My approach is person-centred, trauma-informed, and relational, meaning I focus on building a safe therapeutic relationship where your experiences are honoured and explored at your pace. While I draw from attachment theory and internal family systems approaches, I don’t believe that counselling is a one-size-fits-all. Instead, I work collaboratively with you to figure out which approaches and techniques best fit your preferences and goals.
I’m a big believer that life is a blend of seriousness and silliness, and I try to live somewhere in between. I was born in Egypt and raised between the West and the Middle East, which gave me a deep appreciation for cultural nuance (and a lifelong identity puzzle I’m still piecing together). I’m an avid reader, a lover of quiet cafés, and someone who genuinely believes cats make life better. I also like to pretend I’m “just browsing” travel sites… but really I’m already budgeting for my next adventure.
