Full Bio

Note: Nicole is not yet registered as an RCC, and therefore her sessions are not reimbursable by most benefits providers. Nicole offers reduced cost counselling as an alternative.

I have a natural affinity for connecting with people and enjoy drawing out the important parts of their stories – that may explain why I spent a good part of my life working as a journalist. My capacity to care about others motivated me to become a counsellor, where I get to explore people’s stories and lives more deeply and collaboratively.

Life can take us on some pretty complicated twists and turns, and during those times, I believe in the power of having a guide who can help us move forward with clarity and confidence. I know that pain is inevitable in life, but with a balance of curiosity, compassion and challenge, we can help make meaning of our obstacles, enabling us to build satisfying and productive lives and relationships.

What You Can Expect When Working With Nicole

I believe that a genuine and positive therapeutic relationship is crucial for supporting emotional growth, change and healing. Without judgement, I will listen to what you are saying –and also what you may not be saying. I offer clarity and perspective, and from the foundation of a trusting relationship, I will also challenge you, so that you can get to where you want to be, living a life that is aligned with your values and showing up more authentically in your relationships. I offer an empathetic and sensitive space that feels safe to be vulnerable, to process your feelings, and ultimately to feel better.

More About Nicole

As a mom of three (now teenage) kids, I have experienced a lot in my life and learned that laughter and the ability to take perspective helps to keep me balanced in the face of difficulties. I’ve travelled a whole lot and made my home in several countries before settling in Vancouver almost twenty years ago. This has given me a sensitivity to the role of cultural influences and the experience of being ‘othered.’

I hope you’ll come to appreciate my direct approach, my no-fuss vibe, and my quirky sense of humour! I’m looking forward to connecting and getting to know you.
