Do you live, work, or hang out a lot on the North Shore?
Have you thought about seeing a counsellor in North Vancouver? Have you often wished that there was more therapy available on the North Shore?
We have some very exciting news to share with you, and I no longer have to keep it a secret:
Hello, North Shore: Our New Location!
By popular demand, we will now be offering counselling in North Vancouver! As of April 1, Open Space Counselling is coming to Lower Lonsdale! Thats riiiight, we are in the sweetest spot in North Van.
If you’ve experienced highway driving and looking for a parking spot in North Vancouver (wtf), you’ll be happy to hear this. We landed a place with:
✅visitor parking
✅5 min walk from the SeaBus terminal
✅20 min drive from East Van (with minimal highway, take exit 23A)
✅in a secure building shared with other health professionals (and it’s dog friendly…because, North Van)
✅evening, weekend, and weekday hours, 7 days a week
And did I mention, it is right by the water… picture going for a post session waterfront walk to reflect. Or taking a picturesque Seabus from Downtown Vancouver to and from your session. Or going for a forest walk to integrate all your juicy therapy takeaways.
Open Space Counselling in North Vancouver is finally here!

The easiest thing to do is to fill out our Match With A Therapist form. You’ll be prompted to choose which location you’d like to go for therapy.
You can also choose your own therapist using our self-service filter on our Meet Our Team page.
Where in North Vancouver is the new clinic?
Our new address is suite #301 – 267 West Esplanade, North Vancouver.
I cannot stress how central this location is whether you are a driver, public transit user, or cyclist!
Why North Vancouver?
We actually have a lot of clients (and therapists!) at our current clinic in Vancouver who live in North Vancouver and have commented that it is a lot harder to find a therapist in North Vancouver. We have clients who commute from as far away as Horseshoe Bay because they want in person therapy and couldn’t find the right couples counsellor in North Vancouver. We love our clinic in Vancouver (and have NO plans to leave it), but we saw a great opportunity to open a clinic in a community we love (North Van is the best!) and help people in North Vancouver find in person counselling closer to home.
Who are the Open Space counsellors in North Vancouver?
We’re so glad you asked! We have a really strong team launching our North Vancouver counselling clinic.
Susan Wells is the Co-Founder and Clinical Director of Open Space Counselling North Shore. After having built up a very loyal following at our Vancouver clinic (many of whom will be crossing the bridge to follow her to North Van), Susan will be in charge of all clinical operations in North Vancouver.
Susan is a talented couples counsellor and sex therapist. If you’ve been looking for couples counselling North Vancouver, Susan has a proven track record and years of experience working with a range of couples and relationships (including ethical non-monogamy and sex therapy).
Sonja Huege is a versatile and highly skilled counsellor. She is a seasoned couples therapist with extensive training in Emotionally Focused Therapy for Couples. She also works extensively with trauma and abuse, and is trained in EMDR and somatic-based therapies.
We are so thrilled that Sonja is joining us in North Vancouver.
Cat Main is a wonderful counsellor who works with individuals who have a wide range of issues, from parenting struggles to career burnout to caregiver fatigue. Her warm vibe and sense of humour make her so easy to open up to, and her perceptive and curious style help drill down to the heart of the matter. Cat practises Internal Family Systems (IFS) as well as a range of other therapeutic approaches.
Cat is also one of the therapists for our Mom Rage Reset program, a 10-week program for overwhelmed moms.
Maja Miljkovic is going to be a very welcome presence to anyone looking for counselling in North Vancouver. She sees a range of clients and deals with issues such as depression, anxiety, dating, and life transitions. Maja is trained in a range of therapy modalities, such as CBT, ACT and EMDR. Maja also does a lot of counselling with teens.
Maja has an easy going presence and an uncanny ability to go deep without making it feel cringey or overly exposing. Raise your hand if that sounds appealing!
