There aren’t nearly enough opportunities in our lives in which we can show up unfiltered: where we don’t have to have it all together, and where we don’t need to explain ourselves or be who others need us to be. Therapy is a unique relationship in which it truly is all about you. You don’t need to worry about being boring, insensitive, or taking up too much space. Your needs, your struggles, and your stories are taken seriously.
While you are the focus of our exploration in therapy, I also bring my genuine self to my sessions. Therapy feels like so much more than an appointment: it’s a deeply human encounter. My curiosity and care for my clients help me connect to the person beneath the stories and masks we carry.
I often work with people who are feeling overburdened, stretched thin, or struggling quietly on the inside. I often see people who put a lot of pressure on themselves: parents, career-driven professionals, or people trying to keep up with the constant achievement culture of modern life. I also support couples who feel caught in painful cycles of disconnection, helping them find their way back to understanding, communication, and closeness. While they often appear confident and capable, many of my clients feel anxious, uncertain, or disconnected on the inside.
Often, there are no quick fixes in therapy, but with time and attention, you can experience important changes. We will slow things down and gently make sense of your experiences, and contemplate what we can work on to help you feel more grounded and alive. Our work together may focus on building insights, practising self-compassion, and finding new ways of being that are more aligned with your values.

What You Can Expect When Working With Catherine
My clients often report feeling more connection and trust in themselves, their relationships, and their choices. As a result, they’re able to navigate challenges with greater ease. I’m warm, genuine, and easy to talk to, and I do my best to create a space where you can simply be yourself, whatever that looks like on a given day. I’m an Aussie with an easygoing and open manner, which I’m told makes me very easy to open up to.
I’m naturally attuned and validating, and I take real care to understand you accurately: not just what you’re saying, but what you mean. I’ll offer reflections and insight that can help you see patterns and themes that may be keeping you stuck.
While therapy can hold some heavy moments, I also believe in making space for lightness where we can. I welcome humour into the room when appropriate, because sometimes a bit of levity can help us feel less alone and more connected.
Catherine's Experience & Training
My path to therapy began in Australia, where I worked as a nurse and later as a clinical midwife in rural and remote Western Australia, supporting women through pregnancy, birth, and postpartum care across diverse communities, including Indigenous populations. That work gave me a deep respect for human strength and the power of compassionate, culturally attuned care.
I later immigrated to Canada with three young daughters, navigating a major life transition without family support nearby. That chapter was full of change, challenge, and growth, and shaped the resilience I bring to my work today.
For thirteen years, I’ve worked as a sexual health educator, creating safe, open spaces for young people to explore questions about their bodies, relationships, and wellbeing. I truly love and value this work.
Becoming a therapist was shaped in large part by parenting my daughters through adolescence and the particular intensity of the pandemic years. I learned that we can’t always protect the people we love from struggle, but a steady, believing presence makes a real difference.
I bring all of these experiences into the therapy room: clinical knowledge, lived complexity, and genuine faith in people’s capacity to grow.
More About Catherine
I believe we’re all a work in progress, and I include myself in that. I don’t have it all figured out, and I don’t expect you to either.
Outside of my work, I’m intentional about taking care of myself. I create space to rest, reflect, and stay grounded, especially spending time with my family. I immerse myself in the beautiful trails and mountains of the North Shore with endless dog walks. I cackle with my book club besties. I value these outlets not just for myself, but because they allow me to be fully present for my clients. At the heart of it all, I feel grateful to do this work. It’s a privilege to walk alongside people as they navigate their lives, their relationships, and their own growth.
